Welcome to Go Check the Fridge. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Go Check the Fridge website, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. The Service
Go Check the Fridge is a family calendar display app that allows users to connect a Google account, select calendars, and display calendar information on a paired household device, such as a wall-mounted tablet.
The Service may also provide related features such as display preferences, subscription management, and weather information based on your selected location.
Google Calendar access is read-only. Go Check the Fridge does not create, modify, or delete your Google Calendar events through the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account or subscribe to the Service.
By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:
- You have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms
- You are authorized to connect any Google account and calendars you use with the Service
- You will use the Service only in compliance with applicable law
3. Accounts and Access
To use certain features, you may need to sign in with your Google account and pair one or more display devices.
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining control of devices paired to your account
- Ensuring that people with access to your household display are authorized to view the calendar information shown there
- Providing accurate account and billing information
- Promptly disconnecting or unpairing devices you no longer control
You are responsible for all activity that occurs through your account or paired devices, except to the extent caused by our own security failure or misconduct.
4. Google Account and Calendar Access
By connecting your Google account, you authorize Go Check the Fridge to access the Google account information and Google Calendar data you specifically permit during setup.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- Calendar access is limited to the calendars you select
- Access is read-only
- You may revoke access at any time through your Google account permissions
- Revoking access may disable some or all Service functionality until you reconnect your account
Use of information received from Google APIs is governed by our Privacy Policy and will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including applicable Limited Use requirements.
5. Subscription, Billing, and Auto-Renewal
Some features of the Service may require a paid subscription.
If you purchase a subscription:
- You agree to pay all fees disclosed to you at the time of purchase
- Payments will be processed by Stripe or another designated payment processor
- Your subscription may renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date
- Applicable taxes may be added where required by law
You authorize us and our payment processor to charge your selected payment method for recurring subscription fees until you cancel.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through your account settings or other method we make available at the time. Cancellation will generally take effect at the end of the current paid billing period unless otherwise stated.
Except where required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable once charged.
6. Free Trials and Promotional Offers
We may offer free trials, discounts, or promotional pricing from time to time. Such offers may be subject to additional terms presented at the time of the offer.
Unless otherwise stated, when a free trial ends, your paid subscription may begin automatically if you have provided a payment method and have not canceled before the trial ends.
We may modify or terminate promotional offers at any time, subject to applicable law.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, accounts, tokens, systems, or networks
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity, security, or performance of the Service
- Reverse engineer, decompile, copy, scrape, or attempt to extract source code or underlying logic from the Service, except where prohibited by law from restricting such rights
- Use the Service in a way that violates the rights of others, including privacy or intellectual property rights
- Circumvent subscription, device, or access controls
- Use automated means to access the Service in a manner that imposes unreasonable load or risk
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for violations of these Terms or to protect the security, integrity, or operation of the Service.
8. Your Content and Data
You retain your rights in your own content and data, including your Google Calendar data.
You grant Go Check the Fridge a limited, non-exclusive, revocable authorization to access, process, transmit, and display your selected data solely as necessary to provide the Service to you.
We do not claim ownership of your calendar events, account content, or settings.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, text, graphics, interfaces, and other content provided by Go Check the Fridge, is owned by or licensed to Go Check the Fridge and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Subject to these Terms, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for your personal or internal household use.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or exploit any part of the Service except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law.

The Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected, used, stored, and shared, including information obtained through Google account sign-in and Google Calendar integration.
11. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party providers, including Google, Stripe, Supabase, Open-Meteo, and Vercel.
We are not responsible for third-party services, websites, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services may also be governed by those third parties’ own terms and privacy policies.
12. Availability and Changes
We may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time, with or without notice, including features, integrations, pricing, or subscription plans.
We do not guarantee that the Service, or any feature of the Service, will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device or browser.
We may release updates, fixes, or changes that affect how the Service operates.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may also cancel your subscription at any time, subject to the billing terms above.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately or at any time if:
- You violate these Terms
- Continued access creates legal, security, or operational risk
- We are required to do so by law or by a third-party provider relationship necessary to operate the Service
Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Service will end
- We may revoke device access and disconnect synced functionality
- Certain data may remain subject to our retention practices described in the Privacy Policy
14. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Go Check the Fridge disclaims all warranties, express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranties arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade.
Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Calendar or weather data will always be complete, accurate, or current
- Defects will be corrected on any specific schedule
- The Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Go Check the Fridge and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunity, or use, arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total liability of Go Check the Fridge for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall not exceed the greater of:
- The amount you paid to Go Check the Fridge for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or
- 50 U.S. dollars
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers or liability limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
16. Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Go Check the Fridge and its operator from and against claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or related to:
- Your misuse of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of applicable law
- Your infringement of another person’s rights
17. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
If you are a consumer residing outside the United States, you may have mandatory legal rights under your local law that cannot be limited by these Terms.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice by posting the updated Terms at https://gocheckthefridge.com/terms, updating the “Last updated” date, or by other reasonable means.
Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
